The other night, our house was a circus! Yep, I’m going to share my story with you…
(I’ve just noticed that the space bar on my keyboard has developed a squeak everytime I hit it. WTF? tap, tap, tap…squeeeak… tap, tap, tap…squeeeak… oh, this is not good! ha ha ha…squeeeak)
NO shooting guns in the house!
My 13 yr old son is an avid collector of Soft-Air BB Guns. They are anything but ’soft,’ lemme tell you. He has them in sizes ranging from hand guns, to big machine guns. Rarely, is he seen without one in his hand. So, the other night, after we all watched a movie, my son points his bb gun at my bf. Which is a big no-no, and my bf reminds him of this by saying, “You know what happens when you point a gun at someone, don’t you?” “What?” my son asks. In the flash of an eye, my bf jumps up out of his seat and grabs another bb gun, pointing it at my son while yelling, “It means waaaar!” And the game was on! Both of them ignored my screams of “NO shooting guns in the house!!!!” as they ran around the house, chasing each other and shooting at each other!! There I was, yelling and yelling (and laughing) to no avail. My reminder that we have fishtanks everywhere also went unheeded. I gave up and decided to sit back on the couch and watch the show. Did I mention that there was only one light on in the house? So, basically, they were running around and shooting at each other in the dark. Everytime I heard my son literally scream, I knew my bf had made a hit. By the number of screams I was hearing, I knew that my bf was winning. At one point, my son ran into the bathroom and slammed the door shut. That didn’t stop my bf… he dropped to the floor, aiming his gun under the door and commenced shooting. From behind the door, I heard laughter, screams and feet jumping up and down. Finally, my bf got up and ran into our bedroom and waited, in the dark, with the barrel of his gun in the crack of the door. It didn’t take long for my son to come into sight… and my bf clicked the trigger. And nothing happened… he was out of bb’s. As my son yelled, “Oh yeah! What are you gonna do now, tough guy?” my bf was yelling, “Game over!” I love watching them having fun together… even when they’re breaking the rules.
